
About Denis Taylor Artist and Writer.
Born in Manchester UK (1951) Denis was enrolled at the Manchester High School of Art in 1962. His formal education was completed at Ashton Art College under the tutorship of David Young and John Cale. He entered the Adertising world for a number of years before founding & directing interior design companies (1976 to 1986). In 1987 the artist established a fine arts studio in Central Manchester and a summer studio in Greece.
Exhibitions followed in: 1990, 1992, 2005, 2007, 2019 in the UK. And 1992 and 1993 in Greece + 1994,1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2002, 2014 in Stockholm & North West Skåne Sweden.
Curated Shows include: “Greenall Witley Avant Art Project” 1990 “Alexanders Return” 1993 – “The blue path,” 1996, 1998 & 2004 (UK), “Art Work Now” 1996, “Kliver UT” 1998, “Art4Walls” 1999, “Heart2Art” (Swedish Estonia T rust Fund – After 5 Years Later Project) 1994 to 2002, “This is not a Chair” 2005, “IN och UT” 2014 and “the Cloud Factory” aka Fiddlers Ferry 2019 to 2022.
In 2018 Denis introduced one of the first contemporary designed& developed Virtual Reality Showcase Galleries and during the lockdown created 20 exhibitions for unknown artists and an ground breaking exhibition for Art Students for their end of Year (assessment) exhibition. Plus a number of major VR shows for leading artists. He founded painters TUBES magazine in 2013. Painters TUBES gallery in 2017 and recently the Art-Reviews Journal. His writing extends to Articles, Art Essays with both contemporary and historical subject matter. Denis has also opened and given talks at a number of exhibitions in museums and public buildings. His current studio(s) are in Sweden.
