COLOUR INTERACTIONS – The above is the first of series, a series that is still in progress – Currently (November 2019) I am looking at the early figurative-abstract work of the artist Kupka (from circa 1910 to 1912)  – And how he layered pigments from warm to cold tonal values in strips of colour, integrating the figure (usually of women in various poses). As of today I have created ten charcoal studies and prepared four (60cm x 80cm) MDF boards coated in Rabbit glue with a mixed-in Titanium pigment as a base coating and painted ‘grisaille’ ready for glazing in various shades. The finished 4 works will be posted on this page upon their conclusion.
